Vonda L. Longin

NIAGARA FALLS —

Vonda L. Longin, 62, was born into spirit on Wednesday, March 6, 2013 peacefully at Niagara Hospice House. She was born in Bismarck, ND, on August 28, 1950, a daughter of the late Paul A. and Lia (Piibelaan) Longin.
Vonda grew up in Niagara Falls, NY and attended local schools including St. John de LaSalle and Niagara Wheatfield. She graduated from the University at Buffalo with a Fine Arts Degree and was well-known for her artistic and photographic work.
She loved and was dearly loved by her son, David Banan; her brother, Marcel Longin; sister, Christine Nimeth; and her many nieces, nephews and close friends. In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her brother-in-law, Jim (Christine) Nimeth (2013).
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a Mass of Christian Burial at St John de LaSalle Church, 8477 Buffalo Avenue, Niagara Falls, on Friday, March 15, 2013 at 10:00 AM. Internment will be at Gate of Heaven Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations in Vonda's memory may be made to Niagara Hospice House, 4675 Sunset Drive, Lockport NY 14094, Feeding America, 1150 18th Street NW, Suite 200, Washington, DC 20036; or Heart to Heart Africa 14 Ravine Road, St. Catharines, Ontario, Canada L2P-3A7.
