LEWISTON —
Josephine Brochey, age 84, of Lewiston, NY, died on Tuesday, December 25, 2012 in Mt. St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, after a lengthy illness.
Josephine was born on March 13, 1928 in Buffalo, NY, the daughter of the late Stanislaw and Franciska (Boduch) Wawrzynski and had lived in Lewiston the last 40 years. On September 21, 1952, she married Robert C. Brochey. Robert predeceased her on August 14, 1986. Josephine owned and operated the Lewiston Village Sunoco for 20 years, retiring in 1988.
She is survived by her children, Derrick B. Brochey (Deborah) of Youngstown, Anita Giardino of Chicago, IL, Dianne (Peter) Edgar of Port Orange, FL, and Dennis (Cathy) Brochey of Lewiston; her grandchildren, Jeremy, Dawn, Danielle, Jesica, Jody and Jennifer, as well as several great-grandchildren. She was predeceased by a daughter, Doretta "Dori" Thomas; three brothers and three sisters.
Services will be private at the convenience of the family. There will be no prior visitation. Memorials may be made to Niagara County SPCA, 2100 Lockport Rd., Niagara Falls, NY 14304. Arrangements have been entrusted to HARDISON FUNERAL HOME, N. Fourth & Ridge Sts., Lewiston.
