BUFFALO —
Michael Riley, 55, of Niagara Falls, NY, husband of Cleda A. Burks, passed away, unexpectedly, on Monday, January 7, 2013 in Buffalo General Hospital in Buffalo, NY. Born on September 18, 1957, in Buffalo, NY, he was the son of the late Guy Sherman and Rita (Masters) Riley.
Mr. Riley was raised and attended schools in Buffalo, NY. Mike, as he was known by family and friends, graduated from Canisius High School in 1975. He then earned his bachelor's degree in communications from Gannon College. Mr. Riley was employed as a D.J. for WJYE Radio Station, in Buffalo, NY, where he was known as "Mike Riley." Mike was an avid reader.
In addition to his loving wife, Mr. Riley is survived by four siblings, Victoria Panzer of Nyack, NY, RitaMary Riley of Buffalo, NY, John (Claudia) Riley of Buffalo, NY, and Timothy (Donna) Riley of Buffalo, NY; two nephews; one niece and many cousins. Mike also leaves behind his loving cats "sons", Webster and Malachi.
The family will be present to receive friends on Saturday, January 12th, from 4-8 PM in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (297-9007), where a funeral service will follow visitation at 8:00 PM, with Rev. Joseph Wolf officiating. Private burial will be held in Riverdale Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to a charity of one's choice.
