Ellwood M. Printup

LEWISTON — Ellwood M. Printup, 54, passed away on Thursday, November 8, 2012, at Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Ransomville, NY, he was the son of the late Harrison and Doris (Jacobs) Printup.

Ellwood was a lifelong resident of the Tuscarora Nation and worked as a roofer through the Roofers Local 74 in Buffalo, NY. He was extremely artistic and enjoyed stone carving and clay sculpting. Ellwood was a sports enthusiast and also enjoyed playing lacrosse, auto racing, bowling and darts.  But most of all, he truly loved his family and spending time with them, especially his grandchild.

Ellwood is survived by his two children, Angela Printup and Ellwood M. Printup, Jr., both of the Tuscarora Nation; one grandchild, Avi Hayes Printup; four brothers, Harrison (Jean) Printup, Wayne (Sheri) Printup, Gene (Joy) Printup, all of the Tuscarora Nation; and William (Lori) Printup of Niagara Falls, NY; one sister, Marlene (Alan) Hammer of Texas; and several nieces, nephews, great-nieces, great-nephews, cousins and friends. He was also predeceased two sisters, Elizabeth Printup, Rosemarie (Tom of Sanborn, NY) Mt. Pleasant; and two brothers, Keith Printup and Tony "Dino" (Candy of Tuscarora Nation) Printup.

Visitation will be on Sunday from 6-8 PM at the M.J. COLUCCI & SON NIAGARA FUNERAL CHAPEL, 2730 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY. Family and friends are invited to attend funeral services on Monday, November 12th, at 1 PM at the Tuscarora Mission Church, Walmore Road, Tuscarora Reservation, with Rev. Donald Robinson officiating. EVERYONE PLEASE ASSEMBLE AT CHURCH. Interment in Mt. Hope Cemetery, Tuscarora Reservation. Visit www.mjcoluccifuneralchapel.com for online guest register.
