NIAGARA FALLS —
Jean Claar, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Tuesday, October 9, 2012, in Niagara Falls Memorial Medical Center.
She was born in Niagara Falls, Ontario on December 27, 1930, a daughter of the late William and Jean (Gillis) Sorley.
Mrs. Claar moved to Niagara Falls, NY in the 1950s and later to Philadelphia, until returning to Niagara Falls in 1978. She was a bartender with various restaurants in the city.
Mrs. Claar enjoyed shooting pool and loved to walk all over the city. She was an avid Bills, Sabres and Yankees fan.
She is survived by a son, Brian (Wilma) Claar; two sisters, Diane (David) Halleen and Margaret (the late Jan) Appleton; a grandson, Laertes Hayes and many nieces and nephews. Mrs. Claar was the sister of the late Helen Groves.
