Phyllis Cossar

NIAGARA FALLS —  

Phyllis (Dunstan) Cossar, longtime resident of Niagara Falls, passed away peacefully on Thursday, March 7, 2013 at Niagara Rehabilitation and Nursing Care. She was 86. She was born in Merthyr Tydfil, Wales, on December 30, 1926, a daughter of the late Harold and Catherine (Goulden) Dunstan.
She moved with her family to Niagara Falls, Ontario, Canada when she was three. She graduated from Ontario schools and then moved to Niagara Falls, NY in 1953. Mrs. Cossar was manager of Snow White Cleaners on Buffalo Avenue for 15 years. She was a longtime member of Bacon Memorial Church and was an avid bowler and also enjoyed bingo and ceramics.
Mrs. Cossar is survived by two children, Jack (Elizabeth "Betty" Hoke) Worthing of Niagara Falls and Wendy (Tom Williams) Finnen of Middleport; daughters-in-law, Diane (late Wayne Worthing) Senf and Mary Worthing; five grandchildren, Scott Worthing , Pamela (Andy) Littere, Traci (Terry) Maines, Melissa (Tom) Chase and Jennifer (DeWayne) Caretta. Mrs. Cossar is also survived by eight great-grandchildren, Malissa, Matthew, Timothy, Cassie, Nicholas, Christopher, Amy and Ella; her brother, Norman (Shirley) Dunstan; brother-in-law, Rick (late Eileen) Bright; good friend, Audrey Croisdale; and several nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by her husband, Russell Cossar (1979); son, Wayne Worthing (1979); siblings, Violet Piva, and Kenneth C. Dunstan and Eileen (Rick) Bright.
Friends may call at the LANE FUNERAL HOME, INC., 8622 Buffalo Ave. on Saturday from 3-7 PM, where funeral services will be held at 7 PM. Burial will be Monday in N.F. Memorial Park Cemetery in the Town of Lewiston.
