Anthony Cipolla

LEWISTON — Anthony Cipolla, 85, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Thursday, December 27, 2012, at Mount St. Mary's Hospital in Lewiston, NY. Born in Dayton, PA, he was the son of the late Joseph and Christine (Altimore) Cipolla.

Anthony attended schools in both Rossiter and Punxsutawney, PA. Afterwards, he served in the United States Army from January 9, 1946 until his honorable discharge on June 20, 1947, and was awarded the World War II Victory Medal and Japanese Occupation Medal. Following his discharge from the Army, Anthony moved to the Niagara Falls area, and in 1957 married Jo-Anne (Polin) Cipolla at the former Sacred Heart Church. Anthony was an avid gardener and enjoyed sports, bicycling and walking. He also enjoyed spending the winter months in Florida with his wife Jo-Anne to visit his sisters and brother, but most of all spending time with his children and grandchildren. All throughout his life, Anthony was most proud of his family, including his mother, father, sisters, brothers, wife and, most of all, children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren. His great love for them would shine in his beautiful green eyes. He will always be in their hearts.
