Antonette G. Shollock

BUFFALO — Antonette (Gaeta) Shollock, 98, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away peacefully Friday, January 25, 2013 in Buffalo General Hospital, after a brief illness.

She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on December 12, 1914 to the late Carl and Clementina (Guetta) Gaeta.

A Niagara Falls native, Mrs. Shollock attended local schools. On July 25, 1936, the former   Antonette Gaeta married John "Jack" Shollock in St. George's Church. He passed away February 22, 2003.

For several years, Mrs. Shollock worked as an inspector at the International Paper Mill. From 1968 until her retirement in 2004, she worked as a sales associate for Reed's Jewelers. Mrs. Shollock enjoyed playing bingo, but most of all she was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother and enjoyed spending time with her family and friends.

She is survived by her two daughters, Clementine (C. Edwin) Stamborski of Niagara Falls, NY, Jacqueline (Michael McCluskey) Zipp of Williamsville, NY; four grandchildren, Edwin (Karen) Stamborski of Hilliard, OH, John (Cheryl Hayes) Stamborski of Niagara Falls, NY, Laura (Michael) Joynt of Orlando, FL, and Rachel (Thomas) McArdle of Niagara Falls, NY; seven great-grandchildren, Thomas, Marissa, Kyle, Joseph, Kelsey, Connor and Alexander; one brother, Alfred (late Clara) Gaeta and many beloved nieces, nephews and cousins, especially Anna Marie Bellegia and Joan Fratello and faithful friend, Thuy Murray. Mrs. Shollock was predeceased by her parents; her husband, the late John "Jack" Shollock and a sister, the late Mary C. (Edward) Pasch.

The family will be present to receive friends Sunday 3-7 PM at the SPALLINO-AMIGONE      FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, where prayers will be said Monday morning at 8:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at St. Mary of the Cataract Church, 259 Fourth St., Niagara Falls, NY, at 9:00 AM. Rev. Jacek P. Mazur officiating. Interment will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. Family and friends invited. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Antonette's name to Sister Celestine   Fruscione, OSF, care of Saint Elizabeth Missions, 115 East Main St., Allegheny, NY 14076.
