Debra Yvonne Coates

NIAGARA FALLS — Debra Yvonne Coates entered into rest on Sunday, February 3, 2013, under the care of       Hospice. She was born on November 17, 1957 to George F. and Helen Coates in Buffalo, NY. Debra was a loving mother and grandmother. She loved working with children and battered women. She enjoyed working after school with the 21st century program students of the Niagara Falls City School District. Debra was also previously employed by Focus on Families in Niagara Falls. Her love for children was reflected through her home daycare.

She loved to worship and praise God and minister to souls wherever she went. Debra was a member of Christ Redemption Tabernacle Church, where she was a part of the Women of Destiny, Christian Education and the Intercessors Ministry. She always displayed servitude and hospitality services. Debra was truly a woman of the Word of God. She mentored several individuals, both men and women, in the Word of God. She was a powerful intercessor and prayer warrior. She birthed a ministry entitled, The Heart of God       Outreach Ministry which included evangelism, prayer, counseling, referrals and community  service.

Debra leaves to cherish her memory two sons, Xavier (Jenice) Walker, Sr. and Levan Walker, both of Niagara Falls; her mother, Helen Coates of Albany, GA; her sisters, Carolyn and Greta Coates; and brother, Darryl Coates of New York, NY. She will be missed by her six grandchildren, Cordero, Xavier Jr. and Josiah Walker, Keyon Barber, Khadeja Smith and Terrence Carter, Jr.; a spiritual daughter, Marquetta Crump; and special grandchildren, Frederick and Genesis Johnson. Her memory will be cherished forever by a host of nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins, friends, church family and loved ones. She was preceded in death by her father, George Frank Coates; and brother, Willie Royster.

Visitation, Friday 11 AM in the Christ Redemption Tabernacle. Funeral to follow at Noon. Arrangements by WILLIAMSON FUNERAL HOME, 635 Main Street. Burial at convenience of family.
