George J. Faddoul

TOWN OF NIAGARA —  

George J. Faddoul, 80, of the Town of Niagara, NY, died, while surrounded by his loving family, on Monday, February 25, 2013, following a lengthy and courageous battle with cancer. Born on July 4, 1932 in Niagara Falls, NY, he was the son of the late Nahem and Amelia (Solomon) Faddoul.
Born and raised in Niagara Falls, NY, George graduated from Bishop Duffy High School. He proudly served in the United States Army, during the Korean War, where he was honorably discharged on March 12, 1956. While serving, George was awarded the Good Conduct Medal and the National Defense Service Medal. He worked at the Kimberly-Clark Corporation for 12 years. Later, George was employed by Harrison Radiator in Lockport, NY, until his retirement in 1998, after 29 years of outstanding service. He was an amazingly devoted husband and father who truly enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his children and grandchildren. George was a member of the now merged Our Lady of Lebanon Parish. He further enjoyed boating, bowling, golfing, shooting and playing Words with Friends. In addition, George was an avid Buffalo Bills, NY Yankee's, and Notre Dame Football fan. He was also a long time member of the LaSalle Sportsmen's Club and The American Legion, Post #1451.
In addition to his beloved wife of 53 years, Dorothy D. (Drozdowski) Faddoul, whom he married on September 12th, 1959 in Our Lady of Lebanon Church, George is survived by his two children, Kelly A. Faddoul-Rutkowski and Todd N. (Jillian) Faddoul, both of Niagara Falls, NY; four grandchildren, Collin and Cameron Rutkowski and Amelia and Brodie Faddoul; his brother, Joseph Faddoul of Niagara Falls, NY; one aunt; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. In addition to his parents, George was predeceased by his two sisters, Jeannette (Faddoul) (late Harry G.) DeBan and Selma (Faddoul) (late Robert) Washburn.
The family will be present to receive friends on Thursday from 2-4 PM and 6-8 PM in the Chapel of OTTO REDANZ FUNERAL HOME, 2215 Military Road, Niagara Falls, NY (297-9007), where funeral services will begin on Friday, March 1st at 9:15 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, which will be celebrated in Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY. Entombment, with Military Honors, will follow in Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, memorial offerings may be made to a charity of one's choice.
