LEWISTON —
Jerome J. Gill, of Sanborn, NY, passed away on Wednesday, October 10, 2012, in Mount St. Mary's Hospital, Lewiston, NY.
He was born in North Tonawanda, NY, on February 12, 1941, the son of the late Joseph and Jane (Noworyta) Gill.
Mr. Gill graduated from Trott Vocational High School and served with the US Navy from 1958 until 1962. He was employed and later became the owner of his family's business, Gill's Plumbing, for over 40 years, before retiring.
Mr. Gill enjoyed summering at his cottage on Keuka Lake, boating and going to the casino. He was a member of the Elks Club in Niagara Falls.
He is survived by his wife of 49 years, Geraldine R. (Gross) Gill; one son; two grandsons; one brother, Robert (Linda) Gill; uncle of Debbie (Mike Wozniak) Furdak; great-uncle and godfather of Ericka and Kaitlin Furdak. Mr. Gill was the father of the late Kim M. Gill, who died in June of 2011; and son-in-law of the late Andy and Violet Gross.
The family will be present on Sunday from 4:00-7:00 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 5893 Hoover Road, SANBORN, NY, where funeral services will be held on Monday at 9:30 AM, followed by a Mass of Christian Burial at 10:00 AM, at Immaculate Conception Church, 4671 Townline Road, Ransomville, NY.
