Clifford D. Geist

LEWISTON — Clifford D. Geist, 81, of Niagara Falls, NY, entered into eternal rest Friday, October 12, 2012, at Our Lady of Peace Nursing Care Residence, Lewiston, NY. Born December 14, 1930 in   Punxsutawney, PA, he was the son of the late Harold and Louisa (Bowser) Geist and attended schools there. On June 20, 1953, he married Jeanette (Bowman) Geist and they were married for 51 years, until her passing in November of 2004. Clifford was employed as a laborer at OXY (Hooker) Chemical Corporation for 41 years, until his retirement; a member of the First Presbyterian Church on First Street, the LaSalle Sportsman's Club and the Niagara Falls Auxiliary Police. He enjoyed bowling, lawn bowling and hunting and, along with his wife, was an avid NY Yankees fan attending many games.

He is survived by his daughters, Peggy and Patty (Terry Tyriver) Geist, both of Niagara Falls, NY; his sisters, Debbie Sue Gotwald, Jean Wells and Audrey Beatty, all of Pennsylvania; also many nieces, nephews and close friends. Besides his  parents, he was predeceased by his wife, Jeanette (Bowman) Geist; his brother, Donald Geist and sister, Joyce Beitz.

Friends may call Sunday, October 14, 2012, from 1-4 PM at ZAJAC FUNERAL HOME INC., 319- 24th St., cor. Welch Ave., Niagara Falls, NY, where funeral services will take place at 4:00 PM, with Pastor David Crapnell officiating. Burial in Niagara Falls Memorial Park Cemetery, Lewiston, NY, at the convenience of the family. Donations in  Clifford's memory may be made to a charity of one's choice.
