Agnes C. Parkinson

WILLIAMSVILLE — Agnes C. Parkinson, of Niagara Falls, NY, passed away on Friday, February 15, 2013, in Williamsville Suburban Health and Rehabilitation Center, Williamsville, NY.

She was born in Niagara Falls, NY on May 2, 1921, a daughter of the late Charles and Agnes (Callinan) Parkinson.

Miss Parkinson attended local schools. She was a secretary at New York State Power Authority for  23 years, before retiring in 1983.

She had served as the Commissioner for the Niagara Falls Housing Authority from 1992 until 1994.

Miss Parkinson was a lifelong member of Sacred Heart Church. She was a member of the Sacred Heart Seniors, the church's bereavement committee and the NYS Power Authority Alumni Association.

She is survived by a nephew, Charles Parkinson; three great nephews, Kevin, William Parkinson and Christopher Grove; also several cousins. Miss Parkinson will be missed by her dear friend, Eileen Trainor and many other friends. She was the sister of the late  John (Eileen) Parkinson; aunt of the late William Parkinson and Elaine Grove Parkinson.

The family will be present on Tuesday from 2-4 PM at the RHONEY FUNERAL HOME, 1124 Ontario Avenue, NIAGARA FALLS, NY, where funeral services will be held  at 4:00 PM, with the Rev. Ivan  Skenderovic officiating. Flowers are gratefully declined. Memorials may be made in her name to St. Raphael Parish or to the charity of one's choice. Interment at Gate of Heaven Cemetery, Lewiston, NY.
