James E. Focazio

TOWN OF WHEATFIELD — James Edwin Focazio, 83, formerly of Pine  Avenue, Niagara Falls, NY, passed away,         peacefully, Sunday, December 9, 2012 in Elderwood at Crestwood Senior Care Community, where he had been a resident since 2008.

He was born in Jersey City, NJ, on November 5, 1929 to the late Minnie (nee Salvato) and William F. Focazio.

James was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School. Mr. Focazio and his late brother, William, owned and operated Focazio's Men's Shop at 15th Street and Pine Avenue for over 15 years. They also operated a trophy distributorship out of the same location for many years.

Mr. Focazio was a devout Catholic and was a member of Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish, a former member of the St. Joseph Holy Name Society, First Friday Club, the Knights of Columbus #247, Niagara Federation of the Blind and the Guiding Lights Organization, which was founded by his late brother, William.

Mr. Focazio is survived by a niece, Denise Fatica; a nephew, William J. Focazio, MD; and a sister-in-law, Gloria Focazio, all of New Jersey. James was predeceased by his parents, the late William F. and Minnie Focazio; and his two brothers, the late William J. Focazio and the late John L. Focazio.

Friends may call Thursday morning 10:00 to 11:30 AM at the SPALLINO-AMIGONE FUNERAL HOME, 1300 Pine Avenue, Niagara Falls, where prayers will follow prior to a Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at Holy Family of Jesus, Mary and Joseph Parish at St. Joseph Church, 1413 Pine Ave., at 12:00 Noon. Rev. Duane R. Klizek officiating. Burial will be in St. Joseph Cemetery, Niagara Falls, NY. If desired, memorials may be made in Jim's memory to the Niagara Frontier Radio Reading Service Inc., 1199 Harlem Rd., Cheektowaga, NY 14227.
