Ann Marie Durkin

AMHERST — Ann Marie (Paone) Durkin, a lifetime resident of Niagara Falls, died on Saturday, January 5, 2013 in Millard Fillmore Suburban Hospital. She was 72.  She attended local schools and was a graduate of Niagara Falls High School.

Ann was a devoted, loving wife, mother, grandmother, sister and aunt. Her life here with her family and love for the Lord was the forefront of her existence. She was the glue that held the family together and the wind beneath the wings of her husband, children, grandchildren and nephews.  Ann devoted her life and gave unselfishly of herself always for the benefit of her children and her grandchildren. Her pride and joy were her grandchildren. She taught them not only moral values and faith in the Lord, but taught them unconditional love through her actions and sweet, kindred spirit.

Ann and George, through their 52 years of marriage, always had an invited home that was filled with love and laughter. Upon entering their home, there was always the smell of something sweet baking in the oven ..... tasty treats waiting for all the neighborhood children that surrounded the area.

Ann Marie will be physically missed by all that she touched and loved her. We rejoice with her in her permanent home with the Lord Jesus Christ, and one day we will all be re-united in fellowship with one another. Sing with the angels My Queen, Mom and Nina. You're loved always. No goodbyes ... meet you there!

In addition to her husband, George, Ann is survived by three children, Colleen Durkin of       Niagara Falls; David Durkin (Chiara) of Niagara Falls and Kyle Durkin (Sheri) of North Carolina; her brother, Joseph Paone (Judith) of Niagara Falls; grandchildren, Jason Galbraith, Molly Hartman,  Brady Durkin, Alyssa and Gabriella Durkin; nephews,  Daniel Paone (Kerry) and Steven Paone (Marianna), both of Florida; two great-nieces,  Isla and Effie and a great-nephew, Luke.

The Lane Funeral Home, Inc., is handling the arrangements in accordance to Ann's final wishes of no visitation nor services.
