Joseph A. Maselli

TOWN OF NIAGARA — Joseph A Maselli, 73, lifelong resident of Town of Niagara (Belden Center) passed away on January 21, 2013, after a brief illness, within the care of Niagara Hospice. He was the son of John and Pasqualina (Raverinni) Maselli and beloved son of Gina (Masocco) Maselli.

Joe attended local schools and graduated from LaSalle High School in 1958. He was drafted in the United States Army in 1963, serving in Korea with the First Calvary Division and honorably discharged in 1969.

He married Jean (Williams) Maselli on September 11, 1965. He was employed by Union Carbide Republic Plant from 1963-1986, and also worked for Niagara Coatings Services from 1986-2002.

Joe was a member of Niagara Active Hose Fire Company and the Exempts. He was also a member of the Suburban Gun Club and was an avid sports fan and outdoorsman. He enjoyed playing cards with his friends and family, and was an avid reader. Joe enjoyed spending time with his friends and family. He lived for breakfast at the Sunshine Cafe.

In addition to his mom, Gina Maselli, he is survived by his wife, Jean (Williams) Maselli;  daughter, Julia (Mark) Moretti; son-in-law, Forrest Burnett and grandchildren, Timothy Sanders, Samantha Sanders and Callahan Moretti. He is also survived by two brothers, Louis Maselli and Benny (Carmella) Maselli; and his sister, Mary Maselli, and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his daughter, Gina Maselli-Burnett and his  sister, Agnes Maselli.

He provided the gift of life by donating his body to the University of Buffalo Life Sciences. At the family's request, there will be no visitation and a memorial Mass will be held at a later date, at the family's convenience. In lieu of flowers, please donate to Mrs. Jean Maselli or Niagara Hospice in his memory.
