John French Wakeley

GRAND ISLAND — John French Wakeley entered into rest on January 28, 2013. He was a resident of Grand         Island. Mr. Wakeley retired after 41 years from Bell Aerospace. He was a member Charles DeGlopper Memorial VFW Post 9249. He loved golfing, fishing and vacationing in the Adirondacks. John and his late wife, June, would have celebrated their 58th wedding anniversary on February 5, 2013.

Beloved husband of 57 years of the late June (Franson) Wakeley. Loving father of Gail (Steven) Dixon, Barbara (Henry) Starzynski, Frank (Judith) and Donna Wakeley. Cherished grandfather of Michael and Jennifer Dixon, Henry Starzynski, Jillian, Jonathan and Jaclyn Wakeley. Son of the late Frank and Florence Wakeley. Brother of the late Nancy (late Donald) Ghent. Also survived by nieces and nephews.

Friends may call on Friday from 2-4 and 7-9 PM at the Kaiser Funeral Home, 1950 Whitehaven Rd., Grand Island. Funeral services will be held on Saturday, at 1 PM at St. Martin-In-The-Fields Episcopal Church. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Grand Island Fire Co.
