LCDR (Ret.) Charles Richard Mountain

ORANGE PARK, FL — Funeral services for LCDR (Ret.) Charles Richard Mountain, 83, were held Monday, October 8, 2012, at St. Giles Presbyterian Church, 116 Foxridge Road, Orange Park, FL, with Rev. Troy Lewis officiating. Interment followed at  Jacksonville Memory Gardens Cemetery, at 2 PM.

Charles was born on September 23, 1929 in Buffalo, NY. He was the son of the late Richard F. and Bertha E. Mountain. He went home to be with the Lord on October 4, 2012 in Orange Park, FL, surrounded by his family.

He served his country proudly in the United States Navy during the Korean Conflict and the Vietnam War, retiring after 23 years of decorated service. He went on to make a career with Florida HRS as an Inspector, and retired after 18 Ω years of dedicated service. Charles was a devoted member of the St. Giles Presbyterian Church since 2005.

Charles was predeceased by his daughter, Karen Jeanne Myers in 2011. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Audrey "Jeanne" Mountain; son, Steven Mountain and his wife, Donna; brother, Henry Mountain of Niagara Falls, NY; sister, Lola Brown of Ransomville, NY; two grandchildren, Kendra Myers and Gunter Myers: great-grandson, Cody Dent; and many other loving family members and friends.

The family received friends on Monday prior to the service from 10-11 AM at St. Giles Presbyterian Church. The family requests memorials in Charles' name be made to the St. Giles Presbyterian Church. Arrangements by JACKSONVILLE MEMORY GARDENS FUNERAL HOME, 111 Blanding Blvd., Orange Park, FL.
