Andrew Anthony Foti died quietly, surrounded by those he loved, on November 15, 2007 at 92 years of age. He was born in Brooklyn, NY to Peter and Camilla (Puglisi) Foti, Italian immigrants.
Mr. Foti earned a Bachelor's Degree from Marietta College in Ohio in just three years. Trained as an engineer, Mr. Foti worked for General Motors Company during WWII designing airplane parts, but discovered that business was his true calling. He went on to found and build International Home Products, a company focused on healthy living which specialized in housewares and water distillation systems, eventually having headquarters in San Juan, PR.
Mr. Foti was a devoted husband, father, brother and uncle. He is survived by his wife, Marian; his six children, Linda Foti Leonardo of Rochester, NY, Rev. Melody Foti of North Hampton, MA, Andrew Bert Foti of Guaynabo, PR, Petrina Foti of Washington, D.C., Mark Foti of Amherst, NY and Peter Foti of Lewiston, NY; 10 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; his sister, Marie Gambin of Fairport, NY and several nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his first wife, Mildred Tallinger Foti; daughter, Sheryl Foti Straus; sister, Mary Foti; brothers, Stephen Foti and Victor Foti. The Foti family is grateful for all of the wonderful health care workers and emergency technicians who became part of the family at the end of Andrew's life.
There will be no prior visitation. Family and friends are invited to attend a memorial service on Friday, November 23 at 11AM at Stella Niagara Complex, 4421 Lower River Road, Lewiston, NY. In lieu of flowers, donations may be sent to the Upper Mountain Fire Company Escarpment Area, 839 Moyer Road, Lewiston, NY 14092 or to the Stella Niagara Education Park, 4421 Lower River Road, Lewiston, NY 14092.
