n North Forest Rod & Gun Club will hold their monthly general membership meeting starting at 7 p.m. at Nedens Lane, Lockport.
Tuesday
n Snow goose season opens in the Western Zone of the state, which includes all of Western New York to Route 81. Limit is 15 birds per person per day. The season will remain open until March 10. Check out www.dec.ny.gov for details.
Wednesday
n Pioneer Conservation Sportsmen of Niagara County will hold their monthly general membership meeting at various locations around WNY. For more information, contact Don Clark at 791-4628.
n Brauer’s Restaurant Fishing Club will hold their monthly general membership meeting starting at 8 p.m. at Campbell Blvd., Pendleton. New members are welcome.
n Hunter safety training class at Niagara County Sportsmen’s Association will be held starting at 6:30 p.m. at 2505 Lower Mountain Road, Ransomville. Other parts to this course will be held Feb. 10, 17 and 24, also starting at 6:30 p.m. You must attend all sessions. Class size is limited to 25 people. n Shallow Draft Harbor Stakeholder Meeting will be held from 10 a.m. to noon. n Great Backyard Bird Count Kick-off Event will be held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. at DeVeaux Woods State Park, Niagara Falls. There will be lots of activities and nature walks. See a live birds of prey demonstration. For more information contact 282-5154.
n Opening day for the Eastern Sports and Outdoor Show at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, PA. This show continues through Feb. 14. Show opens at 10 a.m. every day. Quality speakers, lots of exhibits, the largest show of its kind in the country. For more info log on to www.easternsportshow.com.
