n Snow goose season opens in the Western Zone of the state, which includes all of Western New York to Route 81. Limit is 15 birds per person per day. The season will remain open until March 10. Check out www.dec.ny.gov for details.

n Brauer’s Restaurant Fishing Club will hold their monthly general membership meeting starting at 8 p.m. at Campbell Blvd., Pendleton. New members are welcome.
n Hunter safety training class at Niagara County Sportsmen’s Association will be held starting at 6:30 p.m. at 2505 Lower Mountain Road, Ransomville. Other parts to this course will be held Feb. 10, 17 and 24, also starting at 6:30 p.m. You must attend all sessions. Class size is limited to 25 people.
