Today

n Village of Williamsville Winterfest. Free snowshoe loan for a limited time. Snowshoes will be available from 1-4 p.m.

Monday

n Deadline for registering for the Teen Shooting Academy. Rifle and handgun classes are held at the Mohawk Rifle and Pistol Club in Tonawanda; shotgun classes are held at the West Falls Conservation Society. Handgun classes begin Feb. 22 for students ages 14 to 20. A $30 fee includes cartridges, targets, books and use of all shooting equipment. Eight classes in session the second and fourth Monday of each month from 6:30 to 9 p.m. Feb. 15 begins the shotgun class for ages 12 to 20. Cost is $50. n Lake Ontario Sportfishing Promotion Council’s monthly meeting at Bass Pro Shops, Routes 5 and 20, Auburn, in the Finger Lakes Mall starting at 10:30 a.m.

n Rapids Rod & Gun Club general membership meeting, Rapids Volunteer Fire Hall, Rapids Road, Lockport, starting at 7 p.m. 

Thursday

n Lake Ontario Trout and Salmon Association (LOTSA) monthly meeting at the 4-H Building of Cornell Cooperative Extension Niagara starting at 7 p.m. in Lockport. Election of officers and plans for 2010 will take place. Part of the meeting will be devoted to final preparation for their Lake Ontario Fishing Expo, set for Feb. 28 at this same Lockport facility. Saturday

n Pheasants Forever WNY Chapter No. 29’s fundraiser/banquet at Classics V, Niagara Falls Boulevard, Amherst. Call David Kearns Sr. at 433-3547 for more information.

n Niagara River Anglers Association’s Roger Tobey Memorial Steelhead Contest, sunrise to 2 p.m. Register the morning of the event at the Lewiston Launch Ramp. Scales close at 2 p.m., with awards to follow at the Lewiston Volunteer Fire Company in the village. Call 731-4780 for more information.

Feb. 14

n 21st Annual Wild Game Dinner to benefit the Spina Bifida Association of WNY, Buffalo Launch Club on Grand Island starting at noon. Please RSVP. If you have any questions, e-mail John Hutchins at hutchent1@aol.com. Cost is $50 at the door; $40 in advance with all proceeds earmarked for Spina Bifida.

n Final day of the Eastern Sports, Boat and Outdoor Show at the Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg, Pa., from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.
