• ARREST: A Sanborn man was arrested on a drug charge. Mark A. Donohue, 31, 4930 Townline Road, was charged with fifth-degree criminal possession of marijuana. Roving Anti-Crime Unit officers said they observed Donohue in a drug trafficking area in the 1700 block of Niagara Street and 5 p.m. Friday and stopped him for a traffic violation. Officers said they could smell pot and saw a quantity of marijuana in plastic bags on the rear floor of the car.
• ARREST: A Falls woman was arrested after a shoplifting incident at a store in the 800 block of Portage Road on Friday afternoon. Marilyn Oliver, 44, 3422 Ninth St., was charged with petit larceny. She is accused of taking muscle rub, socks and boys’ briefs without paying for the items.
• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary in the 4600 block of Patricia Drive. An 82-year-old man told officers sometime between 9 p.m. Thursday and 9 a.m. Friday, someone broke into a backyard shed by prying off the lock. The victim said a riding lawn mower was taken.
• ARREST: A Falls man was arrested on a drug charge. Kevin A. King, 25, 512 Sixth St. Apt. 3, was charged with unlawful possession of marijuana. King was stopped for a traffic violation at 16th Street and Ferry Avenue at 12:30 p.m. Friday and admitted to officers he had just purchased “30 bucks of weed.” Officers then recovered a baggie containing marijuana from King’s car.
• BURGLARY: Officers are looking into a burglary in the 200 block of 58th Street. A 26-year-old woman told police sometime between 1 and 11 a.m. Friday, someone broke into her home by forcing open a rear door. The victim said her water meter was taken.
• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary in the 2400 block of Grand Avenue. A 35-year-old woman told officers sometime between 10 p.m. Thursday and 10 a.m. Friday, someone broke into her home by cutting a screen off of a window. The victim said a PlayStation3 game system, a video game, $50 and some prescription medication was taken.
• DRUGS: Amanda D. Pecoraro, 32, 771 15th St. was charged Friday with seventh-degree criminal possession of a controlled substance. A report said sheriff deputies pulled over Pecoraro on Packard Road after deputies saw the passenger in the vehicle and knew he was wanted by police. Troy C. Shephard, 28, 2433 Whitney Ave. was taken into custody and pleaded guilty to drug charges Friday afternoon in Niagara County Court. Upon interviewing Pecoraro, the suspect reportedly told deputies she was in possession of four Oxycodone pills.
Wheatfield
• HARASSMENT: Joshua M. Berner, 21, 4652 Upper Mountain Road, Lockport, was charged Thursday with second-degree reckless endangerment and fourth-degree criminal mischief. The victim reportedly told deputies Berner tried to run him off the road then threw something at him. Deputies said Berner swerved his vehicle toward the victim on several occasions, but Berner allegedly denied throwing something. Berner is scheduled for court at 6 p.m. Tuesday.
City of Tonawanda
• WARRANT: Brittany M. Robinson, 21, 3518 Warner Drive, Grand Island, was arrested Thursday on a warrant for a probation violation. She was held for court.
• DISORDERLY: A 16-year-old male was charged with disorderly conduct at 10:30 p.m. Thursday after he stripped down to his underwear, took a running start and jumped off the Renaissance Bridge and into the Erie Canal. Officers met the youth as he swam back to shore and arrested him. He told police he performed the stunt on a dare.
Town of Tonawanda
• DWI: Barry T. Vanderbrook, 54, Grand Island, was charged at 12:52 a.m. Thursday with DWI and several traffic violations. Police say Vanderbrook was speeding on the I-290 and weaving from the center lane to the right lane and back. Police said Vanderbrook didn’t pull over when officers activated their emergency lights, and hit three hazard cones at the I-290/I-190 interchange. Vanderbrook told police he had a couple of beers at a friend’s house. His blood-alcohol content was 0.13 percent.
