Not so safe a spot
A 34-year-old Shenk Road man told Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies that he recently brought a clear plastic box containing several valuables, including a wedding/ engagement ring made of gold and diamond cluster, to his friend’s house due to a potential divorce.
The man said the box also contained coins in coin wrappers and about 240K in Iraqi dineros (worth about $50).
The man said he was told the box was taken from his friend’s home on Jan. 23 by two acquaintances.
Deputies were provided with two potential suspects — one of whom told the victim on the phone she had taken the items, but then recanted.

Isaac was stopped on Niagara Falls Boulevard near Walmore Road after a deputy watched him drive onto the shoulder of the road three separate times. A computer check showed Isaac’s car’s registration was suspended for insurance not in effect. After stopping the car, the deputy found the inspection to be expired and no current insurance paperwork present for the vehicle. Isaac was charged and the car was towed.
