BLOTTER: Police reports published Jan. 23

Niagara Falls

• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary in the 500 block of 24th Street. A 44-year-old man told officers he saw a man coming out of his vacant property at 10:31 a.m. Monday and chased after him. The victim said he was unable to catch up with the suspect. When he returned to his property, the victim discovered a stack of cut copper pipe on the kitchen floor. 

 BURGLARY: Officers are looking into a burglary in the 1800 block of 16th Street. A property manager told police that sometime between 4 and 5 a.m. Monday, someone broke into his apartment building by breaking a basement window. The victim said the water meter for the building had been shut off and a piece of copper pipe was cut off the meter.

• THEFT: Police are investigating a theft from the 2200 block of Grand Avenue. A 21-year-old man told officers he was unloading a refrigerator in the alleyway behind his apartment at 5 p.m. Monday and had taken off the appliance's door and placed it inside. When he came back out of his apartment, the remainder of the refrigerator was gone.  

City of Tonawanda

• DWI: Justin K. Currie, 23, of Sunnydale Drive, Niagara Falls, was arrested Tuesday for DWI, driving to the left of the pavement markings and speeding. His blood alcohol level was 0.16 percent and he was held for court.
