ROYALTON

Barn destroyed in fire

A barn fire a 9424 Mountain Road caused an estimated $43,900 damage on Sunday. No injuries were reported.

Fire investigators combed through the fire scene and determined that the origin the of the fire was an electrical issue inside the engine of a Club Cadat diesel tractor located inside the front of the structure near the garage door.

The Middleport Fire Co. and Niagara County Sheriff's patrol responded to the reported barn fire about 11:30 p.m. Sunday.

The fire caused damage to the roof and structural beams located in the front of the structure, damage to a early 1990s club cadat diesel engine tractor model 7264, and minor damage to a 2010 Kubota RTV 900, 2009 Club Cadat Z force S60 lawn mower, 2000 Honda Foreman 4x4 and a Craftsman air compressor. Items inside the structure experienced damage from high heat and heavy smoke.

 

City of Tonawanda:

• DWI: Paul K. Harris, 40, of Packard Road, Niagara Falls, was arrested Sunday for DWI and speeding. He was driving on Seymour Street and his blood alcohol level was 0.16 percent. Harris was held for court.  

North Tonawanda

• DWI: Bouchra Dedovets, 29, 678 Fairmont Ave., was charged at 6:29 p.m. Sunday on East Robinson Street with DWI. Dedovets' blood alcohol content was 0.23 percent. She is being held in lieu $250 bail.
