BLOTTER: Police reports published March 8

Niagara Falls

• BURGLARY: Officers are looking into a burglary in the 800 block of Armory Place. A property manager told police that sometime before Feb. 25 someone broke into a vacant home by smashing through a basement door. The manager said a hot water heater, a furnace and a large quantity of copper pipe was taken.

 
• ROBBERY: Police are investigating an armed robbery at a convenience store in the 4700 block of Hyde Park Boulevard. A store clerk told officers that a male suspect, with a black mask covering his face, entered the store at 8:58 p.m. Wednesday and stepped behind the counter with him. The suspect threw a bag on the floor and pistol-whipped the clerk. The suspect took an undisclosed amount of cash from the store’s cash register and fled westbound on Lafayette Avenue.

• ROBBERY: Niagara County Sheriff’s deputies are investigating a robbery in the 2900 block of Saunders Settlement Road. A convenience store cashier told deputies a male suspect, wearing a white hockey mask, entered the store around 1:24 a.m. Thursday. The suspect demanded money and cigarettes and fled the store with an undisclosed quantity of each.
