BLOTTER: Police Reports published July 22, 2010

NIAGARA FALLS — • FORGERY: A pharmacist at a business in the 1100 block of Portage Avenue foiled an attempt by a 25-year-old female to obtain a forged prescription for 120 tablets of Loratab. The suspect signed the name of a local physician, but after contacting the doctor’s office, the pharmacist discovered the suspect forged the doctor’s signature.

ROBBERY: A 56-year-old woman told police three females approached her at 11 a.m. outside of an apartment complex in the 800 block of Niagara Avenue and pushed her to the ground from behind. The victim said the suspects stole her wallet containing no money and her house key. The wallet was valued at $25 and video surveillance equipment in the area did not catch the attack.

NARCOTICS: Police arrested a 33-year-old Falls man for criminal possession of a controlled substance following a routine traffic stop Wednesday. Eric Lizzio, 2002 Juron Drive, was pulled over in the 1800 block of South Avenue at around 2:43 p.m. for not having his seatbelt on. Lizzio handed over 22 blue tablets which were later identified as hydrcodone.

LARCENY: A 43-year-old woman told police at 1:14 p.m. someone stole her cell phone from her home in the 700 block of Townsend Place. Victim told police she was talking with another woman in front of her home and she went inside to get a drink and when she returned the suspect was gone and so was her cell phone. The victim said the phone is valued at $149.
