• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary in the 700 block of Eighth Street. A maintenance man told officers sometime between July 6 and 3:20 p.m. Friday, someone broke into a home there by kicking in a door. The man said a furnace and a quantity of copper pipe was taken from the basement of the home.
• BURGLARY: Officers are looking into a burglary in the 2800 block of Lewiston Road. A homeowner told police sometime between 5 p.m. Tuesday and noon Friday, someone broke into a storage shed in his yard by prying open a window. The victim said an air compressor and thousands of dollars worth of tools were taken.

• CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: On Thursday night, the Niagara County Sheriff’s Office responded to a call from a Lockport-Olcott Road, Newfane, woman for a complaint about damage to her vehicle at The Old Depot on Youngstown-Lockport Road. A police report said upon arrival, patrol observed significant scratches and kick marks to the victims car totaling in $250.01 worth of damage. Deputies are reportedly still investigating the situation and looking at security cameras from the Depot.
