POLICE REPORTS: Nov. 15, 2009

Niagara Falls

• BURGLARY: A MP3 player, wallet, a vase with $125 in change and several prescription medications were taken from a residence in the 1400 block of 14th Street between 7:30 a.m. and 3 p.m. Friday. The victim reported the incident Saturday.

• BURGLARY: Several building materials and tools were reported taken Saturday from a residence that is under construction. A kerosene heater, laminate flooring, a faucet set and tools were missing from a home in the 1300 block of South Avenue. A metal door was damaged during the burglary. The total estimated value is $770.

• RESTRICTED USE OF ALCOHOL: At 9:39 a.m. Saturday, police responded to the 500 block of Sixth Street for a report of an unwanted person. Upon arriving, they saw a man drinking alcohol. Shawn Kirk Haseley, 39, 410 Seventh St., Apt. 9, was charged with restricted use of alcohol in public and on an outstanding arrest warrant.

• FIGHT: Police responded to a large group of people fighting in the 1400 block of Main Street about 3:30 a.m. Saturday. Upon arriving, police said there were about 200 people outside and three separate fights going on. City police called the Niagara County Sheriff’s Department for backup. Ta-Shara Denise Carter, 23, 2219 Weston Ave., was charged with disorderly conduct. Police said she was standing in the middle of the street blocking traffic, using obscenities and refused to disperse. Another person told police he was struck by a broken bottle, which caused a deep laceration to his right hand. The victim told police he didn’t see who threw the bottle.

• COUNTERFEIT MONEY: Police responded to an establishment in the 3200 block of Highland Avenue at 12:30 a.m. Saturday for a counterfeit $20. The person who had the bill said she received change for a $50 from a man. The bill was seized.

• PETIT LARCENY: Reannda Lynn Hamilton, 32, 365 Elmwood Road, Grand Island, was charged with petit larceny at 10:37 p.m. Friday. Hamilton is accused of taking $570.20 of merchandise from a Military Road store.

n accident: Sue E. Wiley, 30, 272 Ehinger Drive, West Seneca, was charged with operating a motor vehicle under the influence of drugs, failure to keep right and criminal possession of a narcotic at 7:30 p.m. Friday. Officers were flagged down by a passerby who saw a car hit a vehicle on Pine Avenue and take off. The witness followed the vehicle to a pawn shop. Upon arriving, police saw a woman stagger into the business with a damaged passenger-side mirror on her vehicle. Wiley failed field sobriety tests. Police said she have seven Xanax pills and one Lorazepam tablet in her possession without a valid prescription for them.

• DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Police responded to the 2200 block of Welch Avenue about 10:30 p.m. Friday for a report of an intoxicated male who was swinging a large stick. Police found a man asleep. The man refused to leave the area, then started to walk away, but not before grabbing a large stick saying, “I’ll (expletive) you all up.” The man refused to be handcuffed by police. Donny Hugh Nixon Jr., 39, 1967 Niagara St., Apt. 203, was charged with disorderly conduct and resisting arrest.

• CRIMINAL MISCHIEF: Between 6:30 p.m. Friday and 10:30 a.m. Saturday, someone slashed the driver’s side front tire of a vehicle in the 2400 block of Weston Avenue. The tire was valued at $60.

Lewiston

• DWI: Timothy Charles Sweeney II, 26, 3362 Lockport Road, Sanborn, was charged with driving while intoxicated, moving from lane unsafely and speeding Friday. At 11:41 p.m., the patrol observed a vehicle traveling at 50 mph in a 35-mph speed zone on Buffalo Street and crossing over the fog line on Saunders Settlement Road. According to the report, there was an odor of alcoholic beverage and Sweeney failed field sobriety tests. He had a blood alcohol content of 0.22 percent.

North Tonawanda

• DISORDERLY CONDUCT: Cedrick K. Bradberry, 28, 90 Lake St., Apt. 24, Youngstown, was charged at 4:30 a.m. Saturday with disorderly conduct following an incident on Payne Avenue. He is being held in lieu of $100 bail.

• DWI: Leon A. Lonnenville Jr., 53, 916 80th St., Niagara Falls, was charged at 1:41 a.m. Saturday with DWI, driving left of pavement markers and failing to signal. Police pulled over Lonnenville on Tremont Street. He failed field sobriety tests and registered a 0.12 percent blood alcohol content on a breath test. He is being held in lieu of $250 bail.

City of Tonawanda

• WARRANT: Stephen R. Heilmann, 31, 162 Jenell Drive, Grand Island, was arrested Friday afternoon by Erie County sheriff’s deputies on three warrants from February 2008, for DWI, unlicensed operation of a motor vehicle and a traffic violation. He is being held in lieu of $400 bail.

Town of Lockport

• DRIVING WHILE INTOXICATED: Musa A. Ramadan, 23, 398 Colvin St., Buffalo, was charged with drinking alcohol in a motor vehicle on a highway, driving while intoxicated, failure to signal and operating a motor vehicle without a license Saturday. At 2:18 a.m. the patrol was dispatched to the area of South Transit Road and Hamm Road for a reckless driver. According to the report, the patrol initiated a traffic stop, detected a moderate odor of alcohol and observed the driver had to have bloodshot glassy eyes. Ramadan failed field sobriety tests.
