• BURGLARY: Police are investigating a burglary in the 1000 block of Fairfield Avenue. A 75-year-old man told officers that sometime between 3 p.m. Friday and 1 p.m. Monday someone kicked in a basement window of his home. The victim said a quantity of copper pipe was taken.
• THEFT: Officers are looking into an SUV break-in in the 4800 block of Hyde Park Boulevard. A 25-year-old man told police that sometime between 11 p.m. Sunday and 10 a.m. Monday someone broke into his 1999 Jeep Cherokee by smashing a passenger-side window. The victim said an iPod and the vehicle’s stereo system were taken.
• THEFT: Police are investigating an SUV break-in in the 2700 block of Welch Avenue. A 28-year-old woman told officers that sometime between 12:04 and 6:04 a.m. Monday someone broke into her 2003 Cadillac Escalade by smashing a passenger-side window. The victim said an iPod and a Nintendo DSI game system were taken.
• BURGLARY: Officers are looking into a burglary in the 1700 block of 18th Street. A witness told police she saw two men leaving a nearby building with a radiator at 5:48 a.m. Monday. The owner of the property told officers someone had entered the building by forcing open a door and took nine radiators and a quantity of copper pipe.

• GUN FOUND: A man driving down Shawnee Road told sheriff’s deputies he saw a long gun lying in a field as he was driving by Sunday. Deputies searched the area and found a 22-cal. long gun in the fields off Shawnee Road, about 159 feet west of Upper Mountain Road. The gun had a scope and wood stock. Dispatchers checked the gun’s serial number but it was not reported lost or stolen.
