Bicyclist struck
by car, in
serious condition
A Niagara Falls man is in serious condition at Erie County Medical Center after he reportedly suffered a head injury when he was hit by a car late Tuesday.
John Keogh, 57, was riding his bike east on Lockport Road near Walmore Road about 9:25 p.m. when he crossed into the path of a Nissan Murano driven by MIchelle Altman, 40, of Niagara Falls.
Keogh reportedly was not wearing a helmet.
Niagara County Sheriff’s dispatch received several 911 calls reporting the accident. When emergency crews arrived, they reportedly found Keogh on the ground — conscious — with a severe head injury.
He was transported to ECMC by Mercy Flight and was listed in serious condition Wednesday.
Neither person involved has been charged or ticketed, the report said.
