Falls cop arraigned on assault charge

A veteran Niagara Falls police officer, charged in a beating at Darien Lake, faced a judge in Genesee County on Tuesday.
Officer Kelly Alcorn appeared for arraignment in Batavia. She was originally charged with harassment, but the charges were twice upgraded, and now Alcorn is charged with felony assault.
Prosecutors say the officer brutally attacked a woman during a country music concert at Darien Lake last summer. The woman suffered a concussion and bruises.
If convicted, Alcorn could lose her badge and face jail time. Alcorn has been on administrative leave since the incident.
