BOYS VOLLEYBALL: GI advances to sectional final

Grand Island senior Jonas Stalyga continued his strong play this fall with 19 kills, three aces, three digs and a block as the third-seeded Vikings swept No. 2 Lake Shore in Class B boys volleyball semifinal action at Orchard Park High School Saturday. The scores were 25-20, 25-10, 25-23.

Also for GI (12-5 overall), which will play No. 1 Eden for the Class B championship at 8 p.m. Tuesday at Hamburg High School, Tyler Hinaman had 21 assists, 13 digs and five aces. Jon Oyer added five kills, four digs and a block in the win.

n In Class A semifinal action, No. 7 Kenmore West fell to third-seeded Sweet Home. No other information, including game scores, were provided.
