Against a team that can fly, the Sabres recalled speedy winger Drew Stafford before Saturday’s game with the Atlanta Thrashers.
Stafford had played 14 games earlier in the season, scoring twice and adding three assists during his stay. The rookie scored 12 goals and added 10 assists in 20 games in Rochester. He’s also been a plus-11, good enough for second on the Amerks’ roster.
Andrew Peters was a healthy scratch for Buffalo after playing just 1:07 in Thursday’s win over Carolina.
