The Niagara men’s hockey team is the undisputed preseason favorite to win College Hockey America, the Purple Eagles announced Tuesday.
The defending champion Purple Eagles have placed three players on the preseason All-CHA team — goaltender Juliano Pagliero, defenseman Ryan Annesley and forward Vince Rocco, the preseason player of the year pick.
Pagliero and Rocco were first-team all-conference players last season, when Niagara went 17-7-4 and won the CHA tournament.
The Purple Eagles open the season Oct. 10 at Western Michigan.
