By week’s end, Niagara Falls native Jonny Flynn will have worked out for every NBA team drafting between slots four and 10. Each workout seems to diminish the chances Flynn falls out of the top 10 come June 25.
On Friday, Flynn went up against fellow lottery prospects Brandon Jennings and Jrue Holiday in a workout for the Sacramento Kings, who hold the No. 4 pick. Media members who observed the final portion of the workout claimed Jennings got the better of Flynn in the competitive setting, but Sacramento Bee reporter Sam Amick later posted on his Twitter page that “I’m told by 2 observers that Flynn impressed Kings more than the rest.”
ESPN.com’s Chad Ford reported that Flynn was the most impressive prospect off the floor, too.
“Kings officials were impressed with Flynn’s charisma and his potential leadership qualities,” Ford wrote. “That transferred over into the workout, too, where sources say Flynn really ramped up the energy in the gym. The team also loved Flynn’s penetration ability, his defense and the swagger he brought to the court.”
