Niagara Gazette — Wilson cross country runner Shannon Nye placed ninth in a field of over 300 at the McQuaid Inviational on Saturday in Rochester. It was her second straight ninth-place finish at the event.
The Wilson team ran in the Unseeded A-2 division. Nye paced the girls with a time of 19:23. Emily Magoon finished 66th with a time of 21:12, and Kate Placek took 70th at 21:15.
The boys didn't fair quite as well. Justin Stephenson was the top runner, finishing 79th with a time of 17:54. Wes Trank (159th, 19:00) and Colin Delgado (214th, 20:11) rounded out the Lakemen top three.

Matt Seaman and Jake Dixon each had a goal and an assist for the Vikings (7-3 NFL), who had eight different goal scorers. Justin Figler earned the shutout in net.

Richie Brinkman scored two goals and John Becker earned the shutout for the Bulldogs (4-6, 4-4 NFL).
CCA 3, Niagara Catholic 1
Brandon Eddy scored for the Patriots and freshman goalkeeper Colin Winkworth made 31 saves.

Grand Island 3, Aquinas 0
Madisyn Pezzino scored twice to propel the Vikings (6-2-2) over a traditionally-strong Section V foe. marina Scerra also scored and Meaghan O'Leary made eight saves to earn the shutout.
Lew-Port 4, City Honors 1
Erin Fitzpatrick scored two goals and Lindsey Gee and Rosie Spira each had one for the Lancers (4-5) in the non-league win.
Wilson 2, Albion 2 (F/OT)
Mariah Elsenheimer scored both goals for the Purple Eagles (4-3-1 N-O). Hannah Johnson and Angela Goodman scored and Lauren Austin had two assists for the Lakewomen (7-1-1).
CCA 6, Niagara Catholic 1
Jeana Franjoine scored the only goal for the Patriots (4-2 MMAA) on a penalty kick.
