NAACP to meet Thursday

The Niagara Falls chapter of the National Association for the Advancement of Colored People will meet at 6 p.m. Thursday at 917 Garden Ave.

Festivities at the NACC

The Niagara Arts and Cultural Center, 1201 Pine Ave., continues the season’s festivities with a NACC Home for the Holidays Celebration 2008 from 2 to 7 p.m. Saturday.

Activities include a parents and children picture frame workshop from 2 to 3 p.m., photos with Santa from 3 to 4:30 p.m., a book signing with Paul Gromosiak from 4 to 7 p.m., NACC volunteer presentations and NACC presentation to the American Cancer Society and a presentation of the Niagara Beautification Commission Home Decorating awards at 6 p.m.

IN BRIEF: New bucket truck tackles fallen tree Forestry workers were called to the 700 block of Spruce Avenue at 7:45 a.m., after gusts of winds up to 45 mph forced a 60-foot tree to fall over and crash onto a house. The accident caused damage to part of the home’s roof and a vehicle parked in the driveway.
